Rana Daggubati to play a scientist on a film inspired by missing 1888 steamship Vijli.

After playing the antagonist, Bhallaladeva, in SS Rajamouli’s Bahubali series, Rana Daggubati is now gearing up for a Hindi film, Vijli - Mistery of the Phantom Ship. Scripted by Yogesh Joshi and directed by Dhwanil Mehta, it is inspired by the steamship, SS Vaitarna, also known as Vijli or Haji Kasam ni Vijli, which disappeared on November 8, 1888, off the coast of Saurashtra in a cyclonic storm. It was going from Mandvi to Mumbai and there were more than 700 people on board when the ship went missing. Rana plays a scientist who is trying to figure out the reason behind the disappearance.
